Always helpful and kind. Great products.
I've visited this dispensary before and have always had very positive experiences. The service is consistently attentive and professional, and this time was no exception. I was well received, and the staff member who assisted me was genuinely kind throughout.
However, I had an uncomfortable situation at the time of payment. The tipping options on the machine were not very clear, and I ended up selecting 10% without realizing it was calculated on the total amount, resulting in a tip of nearly $20. I only noticed after the transaction had already been completed.
I want to emphasize that I respect and appreciate the tipping culture in North America, and I do believe good service deserves recognition. That said, I also believe there should be a sense of balance, clarity, and transparency in how tipping is presented. For a relatively quick interaction, such as in a dispensary, this amount felt disproportionate to the service provided.
I even returned to the store to discuss the situation in person. The staff member was very polite, willing to help, and even considered the possibility of a refund, but unfortunately nothing could be done at that point. My intention was never to create discomfort, but rather to seek a fair resolution.
I'm sharing this as constructive feedback. The store itself is great and the service is genuinely good, but a clearer and more balanced approach to tipping would feel more honest and would help customers feel more comfortable and confident ..
I've been a regular at Flora for 3.5 years, but over time I've noticed sone of their products are priced 20% higher than other nearby shops. With so many options within a six‑block radius, that difference matters — and as a long‑time customer, it eventually left me feeling taken advantage of.
They do offer price‑matching, but it doesn't fix the core issue: their base prices are consistently higher. The shops I compare to aren't running temporary sales — these are their everyday prices and have been for well over a year. Anyone working in the industry certainly knows this — it's their job to know the local market. That's why it feels unnecessary to keep asking customers to "prove" something that we all already know to be true.
In a neighborhood with this much competition, rigid policies can easily push loyal customers away.
To be fair, the staff at Flora have always been great — friendly, consistent, and respectful. That's why this experience was so disappointing. The issue was with one employee who enforced the policy in an unusually rigid and unreasonable way and even raised his voice at me in anger instead of de‑escalating. It was completely out of proportion to the situation and unlike anything I've experienced here before. It also put the manager in a difficult position, especially since the rest of the team has always handled things with trust and common sense.
