I've been a loyal customer of Bud Time at Wellington Street Plaza for nearly three years, and until today, every experience has been excellent. The young gentlemen who usually work there have always been friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, and have consistently provided outstanding customer service. They are the reason my father and I have continued to choose this store over the many other cannabis retailers in Barrie.
Unfortunately, today's experience completely changed my opinion.
The female employee who served me was extremely rude, dismissive, and spoke to me in a way that felt belittling and disrespectful. The interaction began because I mentioned that I was a few cents short and explained that, on previous occasions, the regular staff had kindly helped us out. Instead of simply saying that wasn't something she could do, her entire attitude immediately changed. She became visibly angry, spoke sharply to me, and was slamming the cabinet doors while serving me.
I've worked in customer service, and I completely understand that employees have to follow store policies. If the answer was "no," I would have accepted that without issue. What made this experience unacceptable wasn't the policy—it was the way I was treated.
By the end of the interaction, I genuinely felt uncomfortable enough that I wanted to leave. I felt unwelcome, disrespected, and honestly uneasy because of how aggressive her demeanor became.

Went in looking for something specific and wasn't going to tell them to order anything for me special but when I inquired about if they would order what I needed I was told that the owners first language is not English and getting her to understand what it is they wanted to order was too hard and I'm out of luck. I was pretty loyal to this store previously but this interaction just hasn't sat right.
I make a purchase, I get home and see the Barrie Budtimez employee had given me the wrong product. I go right back to exchange it(not opened, the same bag, within a half hour) for what I ask for. No refund policy. Wasn't asking for a refund and was willing to pay any difference. Didn't ask for anything. Was polite about it. No, they can't refund it. I just wanted to exchange it. No, they can't do that but they would be happy to sell me the product I had originally ask for. I understand a no refund policy to a degree but now you have lost a regular customer over a simple mistake that could have easily been fixed and I'm out the money because Barrie Budtimez mistakenly gave me the wrong product that I will not use. Please do better. Thanks
Purchased 3.5 flower and when I got home I noticed it was moldy. The package date was from July of last year. They were selling this product at full price. They would not take the product back. Very poor customer service. No accountability.
I honestly can't say enough good things about this store. The people here are genuinely kind, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about what they sell. Every time I walk in, I feel like I'm being helped by people who truly care — not just about making a sale, but about making sure I get exactly what I need.
They take the time to answer questions, explain things clearly, and guide you without ever making you feel rushed or pressured. That kind of service is rare these days.
This has become my go-to store because I trust them. I know I'll get quality products and honest advice every single time. It's such a great feeling to support a business run by good people who clearly take pride in what they do.
