I used to live just around the corner from this shop, so it became a place I would stop by periodically. One of the things that always stood out to me about MT Kushmore was the atmosphere. The vibe in the store was consistently on point, and it always felt like a welcoming place rather than just another retail shop. There's a real community feel here where conversations happen naturally and you end up meeting new and interesting people from time to time.
The location also contributes a lot to that feeling. Being right on the corner in an area with other businesses and places you can easily walk to, it almost feels like a bit of a "third space" in the neighborhood. It's not just somewhere you run in and out of quickly. It's the kind of place where people stop by, chat for a bit, and then continue on with their day. That kind of atmosphere is becoming pretty rare, and it's something I always appreciated about this shop.
Even though I don't live anywhere near this area anymore, I still try to make an effort to stop in once in a while when I'm nearby. Part of that is just to say hello and support the business. The two brothers who run the shop are genuinely awesome guys, and it's always nice to see local businesses run by people who care about the community around them.
Overall it's a great shop with a strong community vibe and a really welcoming atmosphere. I still enjoy dropping by whenever I get the chance
